MARIN MOWAT

About
My name is Marin Mowat. I am an Omaha native, and I am painter. My best work begins with a place. I paint in the same way I feel: uncertain and always changing, yet true and always honest. I love to paint the Great Plains and the cranes, and I always come back to painting the things that are quietly beautiful. I could end my life happy knowing that I helped a hand-full of people look again at something simple.
I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art from the University of Notre Dame. Alongside my studio practice, I've worked throughout Omaha's spatial design community, contributing to projects for Anthropologie Omaha, the Omaha Community Playhouse, the Omaha Children's Museum, and Ethan Allen. I currently maintain a studio practice at Hot Shops Art Center in downtown Omaha, where I work out of Studio 310.
